Assignment details. For this assignment we were working on different compositions in photography. We took 11 different pictures focusing on these 11 elements. Framing, Perspective, Space, Balance, Color, Rule of Thirds, Pattern, Symmetry, Texture, Depth of Field, and Lines. I had a lot of fun with this assignment, so here are my pictures. SpaceThis picture shows space. The big mural is the main focus here and to the right you have lots of bland dead space. This space contains many dull colors and helps draw your attention to the main subject, which is full of color. PerspectiveFramingColorRule of thirdsTextureThis is a picture of texture. As your eyes move up the bar on the chair, it draws your eyes to the texture on the wall. The light hits off the wall to add a nice texture to it. SymmetryBalancePatternThis picture uses a pattern on the wall to take your eyes to the room number plaque, and also adds some texture as well. LinesDepth of FieldWhat I Learned
I learned that there are many parts to creating a good photo, and that keeping these elements in mind can make a meh photo into a great photo. I learned that the positioning of objects is key to creating a good photo. I learned about the harder composition pieces to incorporate into a photo and the easier ones. The biggest takeaway from this assignment that I found is that it isn't that hard to add these elements to your photo, and it makes them a lot better.
